Keep It Shut

Some of our mouths open as fast as the marathon record breakers and you wonder why things don't go as planned.

I know we are social beings with a desire to socialize, share, and have people rooting for us behind our backs, after all, who doesn't want followers.

But, have you realized, that not everyone needs to know your story and it is just okay.

Not every friend who calls themselves friends are really your friends. Some are just a surveillance team.

Not every confidant who calls themselves the confidant of confidants really are, they are just broadcasters waiting for news.

It is said, 'if you knew what people said behind your back, you'd stop smiling at them' and I say 'don't give them room to talk.'

Not every individual shares in your joy and happiness.

Not every individual celebrates our wins.

Who are you telling your story? Who are you telling your progress? Who are you telling your wins? Who are you telling your losses?

Review your life and understand sometimes it is okay to go through the pain alone, to achieve something and celebrate in private.

Do you know why you are not pursuing your dream? It is because you opened up and shared with someone about it and they told you it was farfetched and you lost confidence in it.

Do you know why there are so many negative voices? It is because you opened your mouth but you opened up to the wrong people who told you were not just not worth it.

Do you know why your mega business idea was suddenly stolen and out there before you launched it, it is because you opened up to someone who stole your idea.

But until you discern that it is the right person and time to speak, keep it shut.

Keep it shut when you're not ready to talk about it.

Keep it shut when your gut feelings tell you to.

Keep it shut until it is ready to be launched.

It is okay to keep it shut.
