It is me, myself, and I.
That's how selfish we have been brought up. Maybe our parents and guardians didn't envision a world where everyone just thought of themselves only but this is what is happening now and we can't shy away from that. A selfish world where it is just about self.
We live in a world where a normal human being will have 100kg of flour but when a neighbor begs for bread you suddenly just cooked your last meal.
A world where you have heard, seen, or know of a job vacancy but you won't share and note it is not in your line of work. Or you are the kind of species who share on the deadline day.
A world where someone is selfish that you're only good to them when a deal comes through and they live you on the roadside.
We have seen you. We know you. You can only mask for too long.
You can only pretend for so long before the real you come out there.
I know someone might have hurt you and that's why you continue with the cycle. But break the cycle and you know why because someone's watching you.
Your child is watching you. Watching how you mistreat people, talk behind their back smile at them when you see them.
Your baby sees just what you do when you hear someone knock on the door and you go hide your food because you hustled so hard that you can't share with people who are finding it hard to find a job.
Your juniors are tired yet they watch how you treat them like trash. How you overwork them, abuse them, and make them feel like you're actually doing them a favor.
Your friends are watching you, and just wonder what happened, now you've excelled, brown paper overflowing from your pockets. They are no longer worthy.
Mr. Politician, your constituent is watching you. They are seeing how rude you are, not serving the needs of the people, the favoritism and they know you'll be nice to them a few months to the general elections.
Someone is watching.
We are all watching.
We will never achieve a perfect world. Don't break your back trying to do so but can we make it better. Of course yes.
Maybe it is time we shed off the selfish attitude, shed off the hungry desire to just be seen on the top, and stomping on others.
Maybe if you realized someone's watching, wanting to learn from you, wanting to follow in your steps you'd do the right thing.
Maybe it is time to just realize our lives are not our own. We are put in this world for others.
Just maybe when you think of your legacy you'll want to do things better.
And when you think of a 5-year-old watching to learn from you, you'd want her to see the right things. You'd want her to say because I watched you and your steps, I am a better person offering better to the world and making the world better.
So what are people seeing in your life, your actions? Every day, someone's watching you. Someone will always watch your step, your lifestyle, how you treat people. Make it count. Be a person of noble character
Make the world a better place.
