When you wake up in the morning, you have two options. To think of the little you have or to think of the much you do not have. We are in a race to amassing wealth, greatness, and fame. We are in a world where little is insignificant and almost always silences your voice. We want to wait until we have millions to start saving. We are waiting for great things to happen to live great lives. We are waiting for the perfect moment to be happy.
But it is at this moment that we feel vulnerable like we have nothing because we look at what we do not have. We feel like we are not good enough to start something. These moments make us feel unworthy and it gets worse when you look at social media and see the accolades that others are receiving and the housewarming parties. It gives us a sense of scarcity, our minds begin to shrink and the anxiety heightens.
Good things may not necessarily come to you on a silver platter. The million-dollar business may not suddenly flourish. It will be a journey for you to reach there but what do you have in your hand. What is stopping you to start that business? Is it that you do not have a million bucks but do you have something? What is stopping you to live life? Talk to those individuals that have seemingly made it and have deep conversations with them. You will be surprised that most of them did not have it all, they started with what they had.
It is reflection time, It is a new month. What do you have in your hands? Your experiences could be what you have in your hands. Use the lessons to build your legacy. It could be that hundred bob, the jokes, the phone, the personality. We are not operating at an empty gauge. We all have something. See what it is and use it to start. As Dr. Okinyi Nyawade would say, 'Chak achaka' but you can only do it when you see what you have.
When you look at what is in your hand you will be surprised at the steps you can take and the miles you can cover, the contentment you achieve, the legacy you leave. Again, What is in your hand? Let go of the scarcity and the what if's and if only I could have and see what you have.
Very true.
ReplyDeleteIf someone is going to do it, it might as well be me.
These are the words I woke up to this morning.
There is no greater joy and achievement in life than the achievement perpetuated by your own efforts and actions.
Happy blessed new month!
March on…
