It is easy to wake up every morning knowing that life is the same routine with minimal or no changes. Every single day you get to have certainty of the turn of events. It is easy to be in the same cycle you have been in for years because that is your familiar ground. Have you ever wondered why some people still hold onto dead relationships, and draining situations? It mostly is because of familiarity, the comfort zone, and hence the term, 'it is better the devil you know than the angel you do not know.' We get used to the routine and begin to stagnate as the soul becomes drained. It is the point you become held back and find no joy.
Like I keep on saying, nothing grows in the comfort zone. You cannot leave a legacy in your comfort zone. Nothing is amazing in the comfort zone. While you have automatically embraced your comfort zone and picked the lessons, you cannot continue staying there. It is a safe and lazy place to be in. What is stopping you from getting that job? What is holding you back from taking up new opportunities? The more you stay in your comfort zone, the more you postpone your goals and purpose. You become a regular person, nothing unique, and you will never discover yourself. Every day is a self-discovery journey.
Your comfort zone can breed jealousy because you wonder why others seem to be progressing while you are not, yet you do not see behind the scenes, the sweat and bloodshed. You become complacent and imagine you deserve everything and things should be handed to you on a silver platter. You are nursing ulcers and heartaches by what others are saying about you. You begin thinking the world is against you. It is your comfort zone that is destroying you.
I dare you to leave your comfort zone and step into the waters. Discover what will happen when you learn new skills and stop thinking you have the monopoly of knowledge. Live the life of your dreams. Step into the waters in areas of relationships and challenge your non-negotiables and not just settle with anyone because of pressure and the age factor or because you have attracted certain personalities who are not fit for you. It is just not enough to have a relationship status. Stop settling for less. I dare you to take up new opportunities and grow through them, Step into the waters and change your careers. It will not be all rosy but you will never figure out the joy if you never take up the challenge. Step into the waters and discover new dreams.
Stop being stuck and step into the waters, move towns, that new job, opportunity, and unleash the hidden talent. Stop thinking of what is not there and think of what you can achieve. Stop with the self-inflicted limitations. Step into the waters and do it even if you will do it afraid. When you step out of your comfort zone you will rediscover yourself, overcome those fears, and build yourself, and your ability to address difficult conversations. Stop being your own hindrance and step into the waters. Will it be scary? Pretty much. Will it feel like you are losing something? Of course, your old, boring, pathetic patterns. Will it be worth it? Hell yeah, you should actually be on the move. Step into the waters the world is waiting for you. You owe yourself growth.
